Atlantean's Quest Volume 1 Page 45
He was discussing babies. Cassandra’s heart swelled. She was well aware of the dangers of one having sex with their true-mate. A birth was not only hoped for, it was welcome. She just wasn’t sure if Buzz held the same beliefs. Yet she could sense no discomfort, no worry.
“I accept your offer.”
“I didn’t realize I’d made one.” He blinked, then laughed. “All right, as long as we’re both going into this with our eyes open.”
Cassandra pulled his mouth down to hers, stopping just short of touching. “Shut up and fuck me, Buzz.”
His eyebrows waggled. “Yes, ma’am.”
With that, he positioned the head of his cock and surged inside her. Cassandra felt the ridge on his crown as he drew back, only to thrust forward again. She squirmed as sensation shot through her, inflaming the Atlantean’s heat until she could no longer hold back the energy. This felt so much better than the other times. This time they were truly connected body and soul.
Gold floated in her breath as it built up inside her. Buzz’s eyes remained closed and sweat beaded his brow.
“You feel better than anything I’ve ever experienced before—even space travel.” He leaned down, blindly searching for her lips.
Energy spread through her body and into Buzz’s mouth. Heat radiated between them, so intense Cassandra was convinced the bed linens would ignite. She clutched his sides when the feelings became too intense. Buzz’s eyes flew open, his gaze locked to hers as gold energy swirled around them, between them, inside of them. His nostrils flared a second before he inhaled, taking as much of the energy into his lungs as his body could hold.

Buzz’s head was swimming. He blinked, trying to clear the gold from his vision, but it didn’t work. It wasn’t a trick of the light. It was actually there, floating like a shimmering fog between them. Cassandra’s hand scraped along his back, following the ridge to his butt. Her nails dug into his ass and he found himself exhaling the breath he’d sucked in. She inhaled it with a gasp, filling her own greedy lungs.
His body burned as if it were being forced to go through a giant growth spurt. His muscles ached as he thrust into her, his cock stretching her velvet soft walls. Cassandra cried out as her body rocked and pulsed with a tsunami-sized orgasm. The wave sucked Buzz under. His cock swelled, then exploded, emptying his seed deep within her womb.
They lay together locked in a myriad of emotions. Buzz’s cock remained hard, despite his release. His body dripped in sweat, as he gradually floated back to reality. The surreal events mixed with what he’d witnessed, forming a volatile cocktail in his mind. Buzz stiffened, then pulled out of Cassandra and sprang from the bed. His thoughts were traveling at light speed as he tried to understand what had just occurred.
She’d drugged him. There could be no other explanation. Other than maybe she’d been telling the truth. His traitorous mind whispered. Where in the hell had that thought come from? That would mean she’d actually been in space, which wasn’t possible, was it? She did know all about the various galaxies. Knowledge easily gained from a book or the internet. But what about the gold he’d seen? Had it really been there? And if so, what was it?
It just didn’t add up. Nothing about Cassandra added up. She was too good to be true. His heart slammed against his ribs. It had to be drugs. “What in the hell did you do to me?” He staggered away from the bed. “Did you slip me something?” he asked, pulling on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt.
Cassandra frowned, drawing the covers around her body protectively. “I did nothing wrong.”
Buzz stepped forward, anger and hurt surging through him. “I’m going to ask you again, what did you give me? I saw the gold.”
Her lower lip trembled and tears filled her eyes. “I gave you nothing but love.”
Buzz felt his chest constrict. Was this what heartache felt like? He didn’t know and damn well didn’t want to experience it again. “You to get your things and get out.” His body protested the order, but he steadfastly ignored it. His cock had already gotten him into enough trouble.
Pain and disappointment slashed across her face. Cassandra rose from the bed, like a goddess from the sea. Chin held high, she let the covers drop and walked naked across the room. She grabbed her clothes and dressed quickly. Afterwards, she reached into her sack and withdrew a silver object, which she brought to the side of her head.
“What are you doing?” he asked, his voice breaking with emotion as he slipped on his Reeboks.
“I’m leaving, like you asked.”
“The door is over there.” He pointed, his fingers trembling from the effort.
She snorted. “I do not need a door where I am going.”
Buzz frowned. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end as all the conversations they’d had played through his mind. “Cassandra?”
She held her hand out to stop his words. “I’ve told you the truth. It is up to you to choose whether to believe me or not.”
Buzz’s gut clenched. He knew she was completely insane and obviously, some of her insanity had rubbed off onto him.
Energy crackled in the room. The air around Cassandra thickened and began to swirl. Buzz’s eyes widened. Had she been telling the truth? Was she really from space? It wasn’t possible, was it? His muscles locked as her lower body became fuzzy.
Last chance, she whispered in his head.
He flinched. Could he live without knowing? Could he live without her? The thought sent a shot of pain rocketing to his heart. A resounding no echoed back. For the first time in his life, Buzz didn’t stop to think, he just leapt. His hands closed around her. A bright light swallowed them a second later and the room disappeared. When the spots stopped floating before his eyes, Buzz realized that he and Cassandra were standing on the bridge of a ship, which appeared to be parked in the middle of a jungle.
“It’s true,” he murmured to himself, his tense muscles relaxing one by one.
Cassandra smiled. “Of course it’s true.”
“I’m sorry,” his voice trailed off. “I’m sorry I didn’t believe you.”
“Don’t be. You’re here now.”
He glanced out the viewing window. “Where are we?”
“In the jungle I grew up in.” Her gaze shifted to the instrument panel. “We’re still on Earth, but we will be leaving shortly.”
Buzz nodded, trying to comprehend all that was happening around him. “Where are we going?”
“Planet Zaron.”
He had no idea where that was and didn’t care. Excitement swept through him. His dream of returning to space was about to be answered. Fear and anticipation filled his mind, reminding him again that he’d been grounded from space travel for a reason. The trip might very well kill him, but it would be worth it to see another world. “Never heard of Zaron.”
She laughed. “You will.” Cassandra motioned toward the instrument panel, then as if reading his mind she said, “You need not worry about the remnants of your illness. You’ve been healed.”
Buzz stood in shocked silence as he digested her words. “How did you…”
“Do you doubt me?” She arched a brow, daring him to question her statement.
He glanced around at the bridge, his gaze lingering on the controls. “Not anymore,” he laughed, then sobered. “I love you, you know. Both of you.” Buzz wrapped his arms around her stomach and tenderly kissed her neck.
Cassandra’s eyes filled with fresh tears. “You know about the baby?”
He nodded. “I had a gut feeling after we’d made love that something was different.”
She bit her lower lip. “And you don’t mind?”
He smiled and kissed her again. “Mind? Are you kidding? I’m over the moon.”
“Not yet, but you will be soon.” Cassandra laughed. “I love you, too.”
“I know.” He grinned. “I just wish my sister Carrie knew about all this.”
Cassandra smiled. “That can be arranged.”
Buzz s
tilled. “Seriously?”
She nodded. “Absolutely. I’ll have someone from Zaron notify her. Perhaps Orion will send a Phantom Warrior. They’ve longed to see this planet and can easily slip on and off the Earth without being detected.”
“Who’s Orion?” There was bite to the question that he didn’t bother to hide.
“You do not need to be jealous of Orion. You are my true-mate. We’ve experienced Atlantean heat. I want no other.”
“Can I trust him with my sister?”
She brushed him with her fingertips. “You can trust me.”
“I do,” he said, then frowned. “But I don’t know if I like the sound of a Phantom Warrior paying an unscheduled visit to my sister. Carrie’s fragile. She’s been through a lot. She might not take a stranger’s word for it that I’ve left the planet. It’s not like that’s common here on Earth.”
She nodded. “Understood, but I assure you that the Phantom Warriors aren’t too bad, once you get past their intimidating appearance.” She laughed. “They will do her no harm. You have my word.”
“As long as you’re sure...” He shoved his hands in his pockets. “I don’t want her to worry about me. She’s done enough of that over the years.”
Cassandra stroked his cheek lovingly, then her grin widened. “Your family is now my family. Consider it done.”
Buzz’s lips quirked, everything had turned out better than his dreams. Better than he’d ever imagined. Not even NASA could beat the ride he was about to take. “Let’s go home.”

Cassandra listened to the message Orion had left her. He’d gone through the transport with Queen Rachel’s friend, Brigit and would see her back on Zaron. She followed his instructions to the letter. With Brady’s help, she gathered the stones that powered the transport, thus permanently disabling the device. The Atlantean people would now be safe from humans.
Back inside the ship, she pressed several buttons and flipped a few switches, firing up the engines. Buzz’s face held pure joy as the craft lifted from the ground. He turned to her and smiled as they broke through Earth’s atmosphere, love shining in his gray-green eyes. Cassandra’s heart gave a little flip.
“Does this ship fly itself?” he asked, mischief twitching the corners of his mouth.
“Practically, or else Orion wouldn’t have left it in my hands,” she answered cautiously, her eyes narrowing in suspicion. “Why?”
“Perhaps you’d like to give me a tour,” he suggested, his eyes widening in innocence.
“If you wish.” Her voice purred.
The answering smile he gave her was feral. “Great, let’s start with the bedroom.”
Heat swept over her body as Buzz stalked her. Cassandra giggled, then spun out of reach. She raced for the ladder leading to the sleep chamber. He caught her before her foot hit the second rung.
“You can’t get away from me that easy.” His arms closed around her shoulders, sliding down her arms, and then around to cup her full breasts.
She moaned as he pressed his thumbs against her nipples. “Who said I was trying to get away?” Cassandra smiled to herself. She finally had her true-mate by her side. All was right in the galaxy.
